DOMAINE PAUL BUISSE

Chinon

Cabernet Franc

Loire Valley
France

2017

Situated by the Vienne River, which offers a semi-oceanic climate, the trellised vines at this vineyard average 10-50 years of age and are set in a flint and clay soil with underlying yellow chalk that has some alluvium ore and flint and dates to the Turonien period (90-94 million years ago).

Late spring frost prompted lower yields but wines that were more dense in nature. The resulting wines from the vintage are elegantly structured with silky tannins.

Harvest commences at full ripeness. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks and was followed by malolactic fermentation. The wines was aged in these stainless steel tanks for approximately one year prior to release. No oak was used at any stage.
